Preparing for the PRAXIS II: ART CONTENT & ANALYSIS 5135
Preparing for the Praxis II is not an easy process, especially if you are like me and you have to refresh your memory from years of classes. Well, you're in luck! Below is a compiled list of helpful things that I found that can help you to study for the Praxis II: Art and Content Analysis 5135.
The Praxis II Website
The website for the Praxis has some helpful items, like a brochure and study guide you can access to see what all the test is on and how well prepared you are for the material. Overall, you need to score a 161 to pass. You can also register for your test date ahead of time, but keep in mind it will cost you to move the date and only receive half back if you cancel. So be sure on the date before you book the appointment. Luckily it is offered in many areas throughout Maryland and the surrounding states. There is also a test you can purchase for practice through their website.
The Annotated Mona Lisa
During my search, I also came across a helpful guide for a crash course in art history. This can be helpful to brush up on everything and pull artwork from for the content part of the test. Thanks to bxscience for uploading a pdf of the first edition.
Mometrix
Mometrix has a free version of the questions that are similar to what will be asked on the test. This is a great tool to use for practice and see where you are with your knowledge. I will definitely be using this.
Quizlet
Quizlet is also a great resource for studying, it provides multiple ways to memorize material. See above to start practicing now! Luckily the hard work of putting in 766 terms is already done, see below.
